About Anna
Writer.
Practitioner.
Observer.
Anna Robinson created The Reflectory to offer structured, private ways to think, listen and step away from ordinary demands.
Who I am
Words, sound
and careful attention.
I am a writer, counsellor and CMA-accredited Sound Therapy Practitioner trained at the Academy of Sound Therapy.
I am autistic and have ADHD and dyspraxia, and I live with hypermobility. I understand that ordinary group settings can involve hidden physical, sensory and social demands. That experience shapes The Reflectory: clear information, low social pressure, flexible participation and no need to explain what you need.
I use writing to slow a thought down and look at it properly. That approach informs the guided writing sessions: clear prompts, private work and no pressure to reach a particular answer.
My counselling background informs the boundaries of The Reflectory: choice, consent, confidentiality and the right to stop. The writing sessions themselves are not counselling or therapy.
My sound work uses Himalayan singing bowls, gongs and other sound equipment. I work live and respond to the room rather than playing a recording or following an identical sequence each time.
Why The Reflectory exists
Space without
the performance.
Many people want time to think or rest but do not want another group in which they must introduce themselves, explain why they are there or share something personal.
The Reflectory was designed around that.
There are no introductions, sharing circles or expectations of conversation. The structure is clear, the group is small and what happens internally remains private.
You can attend because something has been on your mind. You can also attend because you are tired, curious or simply want ninety minutes that do not belong to anybody else.
Who it is for
Time without
pressure.
The Reflectory is for people who want structured, private time to think or rest.
It may suit you if you prefer quiet groups, want uninterrupted time, need a clear way to examine something, or are curious about writing or sound without wanting therapy or a creative-writing class.
It is not intended for crisis support or mental-health treatment.

How I work
Clear structure.
Plenty of choice.
I explain what will happen before it happens.
In a writing session, I introduce one prompt at a time and then leave you alone to write. I do not read, collect or assess your work.
During sound, you can keep your eyes open or closed, change position, use ear protection, take a break or leave the room.
In either session, you can participate lightly, pause or stop. You never need to justify that choice.
The studio
Small by
design.
Sessions take place in a private studio in Lincolnshire, with a maximum of eight people.
Writing sessions are seated with a firm surface for notebooks. Sound sessions use chairs rather than requiring people to lie on the floor.
Access involves walking up a slope, crossing a bridge and stepping down into the room. The toilet is not wheelchair accessible. If this would prevent you from attending, please contact me. Subject to demand and availability, sessions may instead be held at a local village hall with wheelchair access and parking.
There is time to arrive, choose a seat and have tea before the session begins. The full address and joining instructions are provided after booking.
